Rafael Van Der Vaart is viewed a legend by a lot of people associated with Tottenham. The Dutchman gave the Lilywhites some superb memories in his time at White Hart Lane and it seems he loves the club as much as the fans love him. Over the weekend he tweeted claiming that he had banned one of his son’s friends from his home for wearing an Arsenal shirt.
No worries. Saw the shirt. Confronted him. Banned him from my home

It was quite obviously a joke from the Dutchman, but the Spurs fans lapped it up. The 35-year-old is still playing football and he signed for Esbjerg fB in the Danish 1st division in the summer, however, it’s likely that this year will be his last before he hangs up his boots. Astonishingly, it’s been over six years since VVD left White Hart Lane but that doesn’t mean the midfielder doesn’t have a place in the Tottenham fans’ hearts.
Van Der Vaart’s two seasons at White Hart Lane were two seasons to remember for the fans. His incredible performances in midfield alongside the likes of Luka Modric and Gareth Bale were golden for a lot of fans and his 28 goals and 18 assists in his 77 games for Tottenham, including a penalty at The Emirates in the club’s famous 3-2 victory against their North London rivals.
