Bannan Is A Shining Star For Scotland

Against the Czechs there were plenty of villains but against Lithuania it was the little Villan Barry Bannan who stood up and proved if you are good enough you are old enough.

The little Scot showed his class as Scotland claimed the points and kept the dream alive with a 1-0 win over the Lithuanians and maybe just pinching second spot.

When the name Barry has been mentioned in connection with Scotland over the past few years its been in bad taste as Barry Ferguson was involved in the infamous Boozegate, which ultimately ended his Scotland career.

Now the Scots have a new Barry to worship he is fast, skilful and has a magnificent left foot and is surely the shining light the Scots have been searching for and at such a young age has plenty to offer.

Barry has been criticised about his lack in height and playing in the Premier League height surely has its advantages, but the little man from Airdrie only has to look at players such as Xavi an Iniesta to show that height is not everything and he can learn a lot by modelling himself on these players.

I am by no means saying Barry is at this level but with determination he can achieve his goals and be a leading player for years to come.
