If rumours are to be believed then Nikica Jelavic is moping about Murray Park wishing he was elsewhere.
According to Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor this not the case as he spoke to Recordsport today when asked about the players body language during games he was quoted saying,
“First of all I’m relieved he’s still at the club and hasn’t been sold, and I think it’s unfair to talk about Nikica’s body language and ask whether he looks as if he’s playing in a huff.”
With the transfer window closing and the player still being in Govan for another 6 months at least, Rangers will need to hope that their main talisman stays long enough and fires the club to 4 in a row.
A £6.5 million bid from Leicester wasn’t enough to turn Rangers head and also Rumours of a £9 million bid from an unknown club was also rejected. Liverpool are the latest in a long line of clubs joined by fenerbache to have declared interest in the 6ft plus Croatian and his time at Rangers could well be coming to an end.
If Ally McCoist and his backroom staff can sit down with Jelavic and convince him to see out the season in Scotland, he will not only get the move he desires, but could very well leave with another league winners medal.
Nikica has done it all in Scotland in his short spell at the club and with exception of the Scottish cup he really has nothing else to prove here. The Croat has the ability to shine in England or any other league he chooses to play in. After signing from Rapid Vienna for 4 Million, Rangers would look to at least double that fee if he was to move on in January.
