Rangers fans on Twitter desperately want to see Gerrard avoid signing ex-teammate Charlie Adam

Steven Gerrard has, so far, been doing a great job at Ibrox. His summer business set him up superbly for the season ahead, however, the job is only half done and it will be imperative for him to get it right in January is he’s serious about succeeding at Ibrox. That’s where these comments from Charlie Adam come in, as the Scotsman eyes a Rangers return, Gerrard must avoid signing him.

The Stoke City midfielder has been a hit and miss figure throughout his entire career. He’s never truly lived up to the form that saw him get his Liverpool move after shining brightly for Blackpool during The Tangerines relegation season from the Premier League. However, now he’s been at The Potters for six seasons and is almost halfway through his seventh, it could be time for a move again, with his comments in The Daily Record suggesting a Rangers loan.
The supporters couldn’t be more against a loan move for Adam and they’ll do everything in their power to avoid signing the Scottish international, who’s racked up 26 caps. The next step for Adam will most likely be getting a move away from Stoke City, where he’s only featured three times in the Championship so far under Gary Rowett, and with his Scottish roots and previous time spent north of the border, Scottish football could be the next move for him, even if The Gers are against him signing for them.

That’s right Charlie bring your youth and vast pace and agility too. It’s 2018 not 1998 I’m afraid your ships sailed and wee jimmy doesn’t need an apprentice kit man. #Rangersfc

The Gers hate the idea of resigning Adam and will just hope that some other poor Scottish club can fork out and sign the 32-year-old.
