Wolverhampton Wanderers have surely been one of the stories of the Premier League this season with their impressive performances in the top-flight and no-one would have expected that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side would be competing for a potential spot in the Europa League.
One man that has impressed this season is Raul Jimenez and it appears he has some news that will delight the Molineux outfit regarding his future.
What’s the News?
According to Marca Claro, (via A Bola and Sport Witness), the Mexico international has made it clear that he would like to remain at Wolves and admitted that he was very happy at the club.
“I’d like to stay at the Wolves,” he said. “I’m very happy. A major project was created at Wolverhampton. It’s not normal for a newly promoted Premier League team to be fighting for a place in the Europa League.”
Jimenez has been outstanding for Wolves this season and his performances can clearly show how happy he is with life at Molineux.
The Mexican has already netted 12 goals in the Premier League this season, which has matched the previous record set by Steven Fletcher, although he looks more than likely to break that record with eight games to go.
The news that he would like to stay at the club will surely make it easier for Wolves to complete a deal for him and the ball is surely in their court when it comes down to turning his loan spell into a permanent move from Benfica.
The €38million (£32.3m) that has been claimed to be the value of a transfer would surely have to be considered a steal and something Nuno’s side should seriously look at exploiting in the summer.
Wolves fans, what do you make of Jimenez’s remarks? Surely Wolves must sign him on a permanent deal? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
