Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping Klopp can secure a deal for Keita in the coming days.
Although RB Leipzig finished second place in the German league last season, those in charge of the club need to understand that selling players like Naby Keita could be crucial for success going forward.
It has been reported recently that Liverpool had a £66 million offer for Keita rejected by his club.
Yes, they finished second last season, but they were a whole 15 points behind champions, Bayern Munich.
They are still ways off being able to overtake Bayern and whilst many of you may be confused as to why our landlord reckons the key to success is to sell their best player, it could be.
If Leipzig eventually received an offer of around £70 million and they accepted, that is £70 million that could be reinvested into their squad and what a difference that could make.
Keita’s price tag is essentially off of the back of one or two good seasons, especially the most recent one.
So, what if he can’t stay consistent with his form and those £66 million offers turn into £20 million?
They would lose out on a huge opportunity, should they bring in the right players, to bolster their side and push on for the league title.
It is a huge risk of course, just look at Tottenham after selling Bale, but should it pay off, RB Leipzig could become a household name across Europe.
