Reading and Birmingham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been pestering our Arsenal regulars today to get more information about a youngster who could become the latest name on the books of the Championship clubs.
19-year-old Iwobi has made two senior appearances for Arsenal this season, as well as earning his international debut with Nigeria’s senior squad, and is set to be loaned out to gain more experience.
Both Championship sides are chasing Iwobi’s signature before the emergency loan window shuts on Wednesday, though they face competition from League One outfit Sheffield United.
Arsenal’s hands may be tied though due to an injury crisis at the club, with the latest victim being Francis Coquelin. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott are yet to return, which means Iwobi may be required on the right.
Go0ners at the bar are sat on the fence here, as they’d prefer to see Iwobi farmed out to gain additional experience but are unsure whether they can afford to at this time.
Arsenal fans, is Iwobi needed in the first-team or is a loan move the best approach? Let us know in the comments below!
