The Daily Mail are reporting news that we all knew was coming here in the Football Transfer Tavern – Real Madrid are sure they have netted Gareth Bale.
Of course the Welshman’s current club Spurs have been insisting for the whole of the transfer window that the player was not for sale and rumours of a new and improved contract not to mention an excellent relationship with manager Andre Villas Boas were mooted as reasons for the player to stay one final season at the club and propel them into the Champions League.
Now it seems that Spanish publication Marca were right and Bale is on his way to the Spanish Capital. Daniel Levy has reportedly managed to secure a record breaking £87 million fee for the forward and a player going the other way. Spurs were thought to be considering taking winger Angel Di Maria or even left back Fabio Coentrao, both of whom Real Madrid would be happy to see go.
Now however, AVB has set his eye on wonder kid Alvaro Morata who has been linked with Liverpool in recent weeks, yet both Real Madrid and also the forward himself would be reluctant to see a deal go through involving the Spanish Under 21 International who is highly thought of at the club.
