Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t best pleased with their season so far, expressing their woes as they sink a few pints in the bar, but they’re gutted to have some positive news snatched away from them.
Our selection of punters gathering to watch the Sunday football had hoped Real Madrid’s transfer ban would stop them moving for David De Gea but The Independent states the Spanish side are still aiming to sign the goalkeeper this summer.
Los Blancos were hit with a ban by FIFA this week that prevents them registering new players for the next two transfer windows, meaning any signings they make this summer and next January are ineligible to feature until the summer of 2017.
Despite this massive blow, with Real Madrid aim to appeal, they’re still determined to land De Gea- who saw his dream move to the Santiago Bernabeu dramatically fall apart right at the death of last summer’s transfer window.
Our landlord believes De Gea’s move to Real Madrid is inevitable and United are fighting a losing battle, stating they should start preparing for life without De Gea immediately.
United fans, do you have any chance of keeping De Gea? Let us know in the comments below!
