Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern almost fell off their bar stools this afternoon, as they simply couldn’t believe what they were hearing regarding what would be a sensational signing.
Goal, citing Spanish outlet El Confidencial, state Real Madrid have told Arsenal that Isco is available to sign for £25m, as they are prepared to accept the departure of the Spanish midfielder despite their imminent transfer ban.
Arsenal hold long-term interest in Isco, who is also a target for Manchester City, and it’s stated the Gunners have privately been encouraged by the Spanish giants to make a move.
Isco has endured a difficult spell in the Spanish capital since arriving from Malaga, as he struggles to find game-time due to the vast competition he faces. With Mateo Kovacic and Toni Kroos arriving in recent years, Isco has dropped further down the pecking order.
His frustrations could lead to the player seeking a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, as he looks to assure himself of a spot in Spain’s European Championship squad, but it would still be a tough task to land him this month.
Our landlord believes Isco’s exit from Real Madrid is inevitable and is confident that the player will move to the Premier League. However, he expects that deal to take place in the summer.
Arsenal fans, how important would Isco be to your club? Let us know in the comments below!
