Real Madrid eye world-record swoop for Chelsea superstar

HazardChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are quietly sinking their pints and looking increasingly concerned, as it becomes apparent that they’re extremely likely to lose their star-man this year.

The Daily Star state Real Madrid will blow the transfer window wide open in the summer by launching a world-record bid of £100m for Belgian sensation Eden Hazard.

Hazard has been a long-term target for the Spanish giants, following his spectacular rise to success in the Premier League last season, but he has struggled this term amid Chelsea’s demise and is yet to find the net in the league.

Zinedine Zidane, who replace Rafael Benitez as Real Madrid manager on Monday evening, has publicly declared his love for Hazard in the past when he said:

“After Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Hazard is my favourite player. It is spectacular to see him play. Do I see him going to Real Madrid? I love the player, that’s all I will say.”

Some Chelsea fans in the bar have expressed their frustration with Hazard this season, believing that his poor displays influenced the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

Our landlord agrees to an extent but he’s adamant that no player is worth £100m and that Chelsea should cash-in immediately, should a mammoth bid come in.
