Real Madrid will have until June 15th to activate the £39 million release clause which sits in Manchester United stopper David De Gea’s contract, according to Talk Sport via reports in Spain.
The Spanish giants are long-term admirers of the United keeper and are thought to retain some interest going into the summer, which could mean bad news for those of a United persuasion.
If Real Madrid don’t choose to stump up the money before the June deadline, Manchester United will be free to stamp whatever price they want on their custodian’s head.
The news has made for a nervous wait for the Manchester United faithful here in the Transfer Tavern and many are off to the bar for another drink to calm said nerves.
