Real Madrid in pole position to land Manchester United target?

4419008Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are disappointed after learning that they could miss out on James Rodriguez with Real Madrid interested.

According to the Daily Express, Rodriquez has recently admitted that he sees his future in Spain and former Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos believes the Spanish club will be in pole position for his signature.

The 22-year-old playmaker, who currently plays for Ligue 1 side Monaco, has been in sensational form in this summer’s World Cup –  helping himself to five goals and two assists in only four games.

He has unsurprisingly been linked with some of the Premier Leagues biggest clubs including Manchester United and Arsenal but Carlos claims Madrid stand the best chance should he decide to leave France.

He said: “James Rodriguez is very good; he has already shown that at Monaco. I follow the leagues around the world and I have seen him play at a high level in France.

“He is at Monaco, which is a great team, one of the best in France, but if we have a word with Florentino, who knows what might happen?

“Florentino can do anything he likes.”
