Real Madrid make Premier League superstar prime summer target

Southampton v Chelsea - Barclays Premier LeagueChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have prepared themselves for the inevitable, ordering numerous rounds to sink their misery as they prepare for the exit of their star-man.

The Daily Telegraph states new Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has made Chelsea’s Eden Hazard his top-priority for the summer, with Los Blancos’ legendary midfielder looking to rebuild an underperforming and ageing side.

Zidane replaced the unpopular Rafael Benitez on Monday evening and has quickly set his sights on Real Madrid’s long-term future, with a number of their top-class players linked with an exit this calendar year.

The World Cup winner wants Hazard as a potential replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo but Chelsea have some hopes of keeping their man for now, as it’s stated the Belgian will wait until the Blues appoint a permanent manager before deciding his future.

Chelsea are currently being led by Guus Hiddink in a temporary role until the end of the season, following the axe of Jose Mourinho at the back-end of 2015; which came after the Blues’ atrocious start to the Premier League season.

Their struggles in the first-half of the campaign have left it highly unlikely that the West London giants will seal a top-four place, which many at the bar believe could lead to a mass exodus of their star-men who will want Champions League football.

Our landlord believes Chelsea will lose Hazard to Real Madrid in the summer and that the club’s priority should be getting the highest price possible for the 24-year-old.

Chelsea fans, is their any realistic hope of keeping Eden Hazard? Let us know in the comments below!
