De Gea proved at the weekend what a valuable player he is to have in the squad after a stunning save from Jose Fonte at the weekend to keep the Manchester club from drawing the game.
The deal would have seen Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas move in the opposite direction. But it has been revealed in the Mirror that Navas ‘didnt want to leave Real Madrid’ and told Spanish radio last night, that he broke down in tears on hearing that he would be able to stay at the Bernabeu.
Navas has gone on to start the season in fantastic form for Real and has not conceded a goal yet this season. He has also broken a club record at the Bernabeu for the most consecutive clean sheets.
Some here in the Transfer Tavern have been whispering about the relationship the goalkeeper will now have having nearly been sold, maybe showing that the club do not want him there but Navas has confirmed he didn’t feel used by the club and described the whole situation as complicated.
