Real Madrid set to meet with French superstar’s representatives to discuss summer deal

payet342The West Ham United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are growing mightily concerned that their star man Dmitri Payet could opt to leave during the current transfer window.

The French forward is currently with his compatriots at Euro 2016 and Tutto Sport are reporting that his representatives are set to hold a meeting with Real Madrid today over a summer switch to the Bernabeu.

The 29-year-old was superb during his maiden season in the Premier League and scored 12 goals in all competitions for the Hammers, establishing himself as one of the finest dead ball specialists in the world.

West Ham have slapped a £60 million price-tag on their prized asset and it remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will stump up such cash to lure Payet away.

One West Ham fan is chatting to the landlord and he believes that the Frenchman should stick at the Hammers for now, stating that his chances of first-team football would be restricted should he move to the Spanish capital.

West Ham fans, are you alarmed by this news? Should Payet stay with the Hammers?
