Real Madrid set to trigger Man United star’s £30m release clause

de gea222Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have expressed their concerns after it was suggested one of their star players will leave next summer- and the club can’t do anything about it.

The Sun states Real Madrid will revise their interest in goalkeeper David De Gea next summer and will activate the Manchester United player’s £30m release clause to bring him to the Spanish capital.

United fans were laughing in the summer as Real’s move for De Gea fell apart right at the end of the transfer window but it appears the joke could now be on them, with Los Blancos desperate to secure the Spanish international.

De Gea signed a new four-year deal after the transfer fiasco but part of that was a £30m release clause, which leaves United helpless to defender their asset if Real Madrid return for his services next summer.

One angry punter at the bar has declared the new contract was a waste of time with this release clause, as he truly believes United could have got more than £30m for the player in the last transfer window.

United fans, will David De Gea join Real Madrid? Let us know in the comments below!
