Jamie Vardy, the Premier League top scorer, has seen his recent run of form result in massive amount of interest from a variety of different clubs across European football.
With 10 goals in his 10 Premier League games, finding the net in each of the last seven, Vardy his moved his name to the top of the goal-scorers list with no signs of stopping; as he helps fire his side into the top six in the table.
One of the surprise teams amongst the list of admirers keen to secure Vardy’s services in the January transfer window is none other than Spanish giants, Real Madrid. Spanish newspaper Fichajes have surprisingly reported that Real are interested in recruiting Vardy to give Karim Benzema some competition.
Although Real have the likes of world class players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale supplying the attacking play from the wings, Karim Benzema is arguably the only out-and-out striker in the club.
The departure of Gonzalo Higuain two seasons ago from Real Madrid to Napoli for a fee of £34.5 million meant that Benzema was left as the lone striker at the club, with no signs of a suitable replacement coming in to contest his spot.
There is no denying the bags of talent that the Frenchman possesses but a lack of competition around him for a starting place in the squad could also risk a dip in form.
Leicester fans, could Vardy potentially make a massive move away from Leicester in January? Let us know in the comments below!
