Real Madrid targeting Chelsea star

hazardEvery year we get gruntled fans in the Transfer Tavern moaning about Real Madrid’s advances and this time around it’s Chelsea supporters, who are worried the Spanish super club will capture Eden Hazard.

This comes after The Sunday Times declared that Madrid chief Florentino Perez is targeting Hazard as his latest Galactico recruit, following in the footsteps of Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Mateo Kovacic in recent years.

At this point in time, where Hazard would fit-in at Real Madrid remains to be seen as Los Blancos currently have Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo on the wings, whilst Rodriguez, Kovacic and Isco have to fight for a regular starting berth.

Hazard may be seen as the long-term replacement for the ageing Ronaldo, who is likely to leave in the coming seasons; with the most favoured destinations being Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United or the MLS.

For Chelsea, losing Hazard to a direct continental rival would be a big blow and it would also create an issue for the Premier League- where the star players are consistently linked with moves to Spanish sides.

Chelsea fans, will Eden Hazard be as good as Cristiano Ronaldo?
