Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking ahead to their FA Cup semi-final with Manchester United, although news coming from the club will get them excited about the club’s summer recruitment plans.
Spurs performed impressively once again this season and currently occupy the final Champions League spot as the campaign comes to an end and Mauricio Pochettino is believed to want to strengthen his side further.
He has identified a number of transfer targets that he feels would benefit the Lilywhites and, according to the Independent, he should be able to make them a reality as it appears he will have a budget of at least £120million.
Pochettino is thought to want to add to his centre-backs with the possibility of Toby Alderweireld departing, whilst he is also exploring the potential of adding to his attacking ranks. It has been rumoured he is interested in Newcastle United’s Jamaal Lascelles and Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt in defence, with Wilfried Zaha and Jay Rodriguez of Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion respectively thought to build the attack.
The Spurs fans in the Tavern will be delighted with the news that their club will have a significant amount of financial backing in the summer and they will hope that Pochettino can bring in a number of additions to allow his side to compete across all-competitions next season.
