Liverpool fans hoping for vast improvements to their squad ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s first full season on Merseyside have been given a major boost, after a huge name was heavily linked with the club.
28-year-old Higuain broke a Serie A record this season with a 37-goal haul for Napoli, which extended his speculator Serie A record to an astonishing 71 goals in 104 matches in the Italian league.
However, the former Real Madrid frontman is ready to leave Naples and already has offers on the table, with Liverpool potentially facing competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United for the Argentine’s signature.
Liverpool may have the advantage though as it’s stated Higuain is keen to play under Klopp, although it’s likely the Reds will have to smash their transfer record of £35m in order to bring the South American to the Premier League.
Our landlord feels it could happen though as he expects a major shake-up to Liverpool’s front-line this summer, with £32.5m flop Christian Benteke and Italian bad-boy Mario Balotelli on their way out.
Would Higuain be the best striker in the Premier League at Liverpool? Let us know in the comments below!
