We love reunions here at the Football Transfer Tavern but news that Harry Redknapp is looking at bringing Peter Crouch to a club managed by himself for the fifth time is even a bit too far for us. However according to the Daily Mail that may be the case.
Of course Queens Park Rangers have not been out of the headlines this season, firstly buying a whole load of players and giving them astronomical wages under Mark Hughes, then being frankly awful and slipping to the lower reaches of the Premier League. This is not to mention Not to mention Harry Redknapp’s ‘gang warfare’ speech in regarding to the transfer window and dressing room bust ups – namely regarding Jose Bosingwa.
Today the club are in the news after being linked with a move for the Stoke City forward who despite being happy with Tony Pulis and his side, would be open to a move which would link him up with Redknapp again. The QPR manager is looking to strengthen his squad and crucially bring in a striker who he knows can net the goals – with Crouch being the number one target.
The England international is a trusted servant of Redknapp and despite bringing in Loic Remy and already having Bobby Zamora, Jay Bothroyd, DJ Campbell and Jamie Mackie on the clubs books, not to mention the injured Andrew Johnson, the manager thinks Crouch can make the difference.
Will Crouch join up with Redknapp again at Loftus Road? Rate this rumour below.
