Rumours that have recently circulated about a return to the premiership for Giuseppe Rossi, with him making his way to White Hart Lane are utter nonsense according to the clubs president Fernando Roig.
He told Marca the club are yet to receive any offers for their hit man who has netted an impressive 18 La Liga goals this term helping the yellow submarines secure Champions league football next season.
He added: “[Rossi] is a key player, is an important player and therefore the club has him and his goals for next season [in mind]. We face a great year and [will] do it with the same enthusiasm as always. We will make an effort to have better equipment and [be] more competitive to cope with all three competitions,”
The club are confident of holding on to the tallysman in hope he can repeat his sensational scoring form next term and boost their chances of competing for silverware in Europe and domestically.
The club’s chief has also rubbished talks of interest from Barcelona for the Italian International and pointed out: “The player is on vacation. [As] I said he wants to be here, [he is] happy, and wants to stay,”
It appears the 24 year old, whom is contracted until 2016 will be plying his trade with the ambitious Spanish outfit come the new season, unless an offer is made that is too inviting to turn down for either player or club… It’s still early days, we shall see
