So it seems that former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has made his mind up over his future and we in the Football Transfer Tavern are a little disappointed with what the Daily Mail has to say.
According to the publication, Lampard is preparing to go and play in the MLS for New York City FC, something that we knew, but before the MLS season starts, he will move to Australia and play for Melbourne City.
We had held out hopes that whilst Lampard might go and see out his career in the MLS, he would spend a little bit of time in England before the season started in the Premier League and get the swansong he deserved from fans.
Having had offers from a massive 16 clubs, we are fairly sure that at least a couple of those are Premier League sides and not getting to see Lampard one last time is certainly a shame.
Of course the former Chelsea number eight will be playing in an England shirt for three games this summer at the very least!
Chelsea fans. Do you think that one last chance should be given to Lamps? Who were the clubs that offered him a chance to see out his career with them? Let us know your thoughts below.
