Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are in a joyous mood this evening, following news their club is set to open transfer talks with Napoli over a potential deal for Lorenzo Insigne.
The Italy international has been in fantastic form this season, bagging eight goals and six assists in 24 Serie A outings, and is famed for the electrifying pace he offers in the final third.
That has only added to the 25-year-old’s reputation as one of the most exciting attacking players in Italian football, having finished up as the Coppa Italia’s top scorer in 2014 and ended last term with an impressive twelve strikes in the top flight.
Transfer Tavern’s Arsenal patrons are feeling far more positive looking to the summer after claiming a much-needed win over Sutton in the FA Cup’s Fifth Round yesterday evening.
And their mood has been further buoyed by Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, who claims Arsenal are set to open transfer talks with Napoli after scouting Insigne during a 3-1 win over Chievo.

The 13-cap international put in a Man of the Match display, netting the opener before assisting Piotr Zielinski for Napoli’s third goal in an impressive away victory.
The Sun go one step further in naming Insigne as Arsenal’s No.1 transfer target – is he being eyed as a replacement for talismanic attacker Alexis Sanchez, who is still yet to extend his contract beyond the end of next season?
