The Liverpool fans in the Transfer are desperate to see James Rodriguez join the club this summer…
The Columbian attacker has been linked with the club in recent weeks, with the Mirror recently stating that the club are confident of securing a deal to bring him to Anfield.
However, according to Sky Sports journalist Guillem Ballague, a deal for Rodriguez, who reportedly earns £120,000-per-week, will be difficult to come by for Liverpool.
Speaking on behalf of Sky Sports, he said: “Liverpool are realistic and I think they realise James is looking for a different type of team”.
He continued: “He would like to go to a club like Chelsea or Manchester United”.
The Chelsea and Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are pretty delighted with this, given that both sets of fans would love to see the midfielder join their club this summer.
The Liverpool fans, though, are very disappointed. In fact, many were already dreaming of an attacking duo made up of Coutinho and Rodriguez, though it seems as though those hopes are nothing but a pipe dream.
Perhaps a top four finish will be enough to tempt Rodriguez to reconsider, though Liverpool will have to remain consistent for the rest of the season to achieve that goal. Klopp has a big job on his hands, according to our landlord.
