The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are enjoying their season so far…
It’s been a very good start to the season, with Jose Mourinho’s team firing on all cylinders at present.
From front to back, every single player is amidst a stellar run of form, though one player has shone brighter than the rest. After moving from Everton over the summer, Romelu Lukaku has delighted fans since moving to Old Trafford, and he has already bagged 7 goals in the Premier League.
It’s truly a sensational record, and so there was a real sense of anxiety amongst the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern when reports emerged suggesting that an injury could force the Belgian to take an extended leave of absence.
To lose Lukaku for any amount of time would be a crushing blow for the club, and so this is, obviously, something that Jose Mourinho would have been keen to avoid.
Fortunately, though, reputable Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur has provided an update on the fitness of Lukaku, and it’s very good news for the club. Scans are said to have shown no significant ligament damage in the Belgian’s ankle.

Though an immediate return doesn’t seem to be expected, it sounds as if Lukaku won’t miss an extended period of time, with a specialised regime over the coming days likely enough to see him return to fitness.
Thus, in theory, with the international break currently ongoing, Lukaku could be available for Man Utd’s next Premier League game – and it’s a big one. The Red Devils are set to take on old rivals Liverpool on the 14th of October, and so the fans in the pub are desperate for Lukaku to be fit.
With a lack of offensive options whilst Zlatan Ibrahimovic recovers, Romelu Lukaku’s absence would be a huge blow.
Fortunately, though, it sounds like Lukaku will – at the very most – only have a very short rehabilitation period, much to the joy of the fans in the Transfer Tavern.
Jose Mourinho will be relieved.
