Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern could be in for a celebratory week as positive news starts to emerge about the future of the club.
The Gunners have been looking for a new manager to replace Arsene Wenger after he left the club following his 22-year tenure and it has been reported that Mikel Arteta is set to take the reigns.
However, the locals in the bar will be delighted with the news that Jack Wilshere is ready to sign a new deal with the Emirates Stadium outfit, according to the Daily Mirror. The media outlet are claiming the 26-year-old will agree to a three-year contract with a 12-month option.
The midfielder will finally have some good news to celebrate after he was left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup.
The midfielder will be delighted that his future has been sorted out and it will be with his boyhood club, after being disappointed with his international omission.
Wilshere had been attracting the interest of a number of clubs, including the likes of Everton, during the last couple of months, however, the Arsenal locals in the Tavern will be pleased that they have managed to keep one of their most popular players at the Emirates Stadium.
A number of the punters will look for the England international to push on with his career and work even harder following his absence this summer, with many hoping he can produce some of his best performances next season.
