West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking forward to what Manuel Pellegrini can bring to the club following his arrival, however, they could be in for a bumpy ride already.
The Chilean came to the London Stadium as the new manager last month, replacing David Moyes, and was allegedly given a number of assurances about what he will be offered to help turn the Hammers into a competitive force next season.
However, according to reports in the Daily Mirror, Pellegrini is already at odds with the hierarchy and has already raised concerns that some of his requests have already been knocked back. The 64-year-old has already hinted that there are power battles behind-the-scenes about what is currently happening at the London Stadium.
The West Ham fans in the Tavern will be concerned with the latest news coming out of the club, however, it will not be considered anything new to a lot of them.
The locals have been frustrated with the owners since they arrived with the lack of investment shown and would have felt the decision to back Pellegrini with a huge transfer kitty was just ambitious comments to try and convince the punters that they were about to change things.
Indeed, the punters propping up our bar were excited about life under Pellegrini – especially amid links with moves for the likes of Felipe Anderson and Javier Pastore – though these reports have seriously concerned our punters clad in claret and blue.
West Ham fans – thoughts?
