Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern will have been hoping for a trouble-free summer this year, however, they have grown frustrated with the same things once again.
Rafa Benitez is rumoured to be nowhere near close to agreeing to a new deal with the club, as he continues to not be given the assurances he requires from the board about what financial backing he will have.
However, despite the issues surrounding the club, it appears that he has already outlined possible transfer targets for this window as he looks to build on Newcastle’s impressive campaign last season.
According to a report in the Newcastle Chronicle, Benitez has already taken soundings on possible recruits and will leave those names in the hands of Lee Charnley to complete. The managing director has been left in charge to bring the desired names to St James’ Park this summer and the locals will expect him to be successful.
The Newcastle fans in the Tavern will be pleased that there is finally some movement in regards to transfer activity this summer. They have already sealed a permanent deal for Martin Dubravka, however, Benitez will want more arrivals.
The punters will also expect to see a vast amount of additions if they are to retain their Premier League status next year and will be watching Charnley’s movements very closely.
