So, it looks as if Andros Townsend is set to return to St James’ Park this summer, with Newcastle currently in talks to secure the Englishman’s services.
Benitez was impressed with the tricky winger’s first spell on Tyneside when he arrived from Spurs, and Townsend has insisted he loved his time in the North East which has opened the door for his return.
And, with Matt Ritchie heading to Stoke City, Towsend will be drafted in as a direct replacement.
Newcastle United supporters will be delighted that their side are beginning to make the right moves on the transfer front, as Matt Ritchie is heading out of the exits and Kenedy has returned to his parent club, so they desperately needed to bring in a tricky winger to provide creativity and pace in the final third.
