Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping the comments made by Rafa Benitez regarding a possible transfer target will carry weight and will be jumping for joy should a deal be completed.
The Spaniard’s future remains in doubt at the Magpies following talks about his present deal and the assurances he wants to have from the board, however, that has not deterred him from working hard behind the scenes to bring in a number of players.
The Toon Army have already signed Martin Dubravka to a permanent deal following his loan spell from Sparta Prague and Benitez has set his sights on another man that he had temporarily last season.
According to a report in the Newcastle Chronicle, Chelsea’s Kenedy is still high on his shortlist and the former Blues manager believes he can convince the Brazilian to join him once again on loan if he does not agree to a permanent deal elsewhere.
There is no doubt that the 22-year-old made a huge impact during his time at St. James’ Park last season, helping to guide Newcastle to a mid-table position.
The locals in the bar will want the club to try and convince Kenedy to join them again, with a whole season agreement and will look for the relationship between the player and the manager to help it happen.
