Arsenal fans here in the Tavern are looking forward to the next campaign with Unai Emery in charge, as he may be able to secure them a European place and could even challenge for the Premier League title.
The Gunners won’t want to miss out on a Champions League spot next season after struggling to secure a place in the top-four last time round. Although, things are on the up as it looks as if Unai Emery is making the most of the summer transfer window to ensure that they don’t face disappointment once again in the next campaign, as according to the Manchester Evening News, Arsenal are interested in Sunderland youngster Sam Greenwood.
Indeed, it’s understood that Arsenal are keen on signing the 16-year-old ahead of the new season.
However, they do face competition from Manchester United and a number of other clubs who are all believed to be interested in the youngster.
The centre forward is an Under-16 international who scored seven goals in 15 Premier League Under-18 appearances last season.
Arsenal have already managed to add the likes of Bernd Leno and Stephan Lichtsteiner to their ranks this summer, but it doesn’t look as if Emery’s hard work will stop there as Sam Greenwood is being eyed. The forward is rated very highly having shown that he can score a number of goals in The Black Cats’ youth ranks, so he could play a huge part in the Gunners’ future if they manage to land him.
