Report: Everton have begun transfer talks over potential move for powerhouse

Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking for their club to strengthen in the transfer window as they look to put this season behind them and continue with their aims of Champions League football.

The Toffees had a disappointing campaign, having spent almost £200million last summer, as they spent most of the year fighting against relegation, however, Sam Allardyce managed to guide them to safety with some time still spare.

The locals were not happy with the way the team were playing and have called for the board to make a number of changes, and according to a report in A Bola, they have identified a midfield maestro to help take them to the next level.

The Portuguese media outlet are claiming the Toffees have targeted William Carvalho, who is desperate to move on from Sporting Lisbon, and have held talks about a possible 40 million euro deal.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Everton fans in the Tavern will be hoping they can get a deal done for the 26-year-old, as he has proven to be one of the brightest talents in recent years, although they will need to compete with some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The Toffees will have the financial resources to compete and the signing of Carvalho would be a welcomed addition by the Goodison Park locals, as he would immediately bump up the centre of midfield with his arrival.
