Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking for the squad to continue their impressive summer of transfer business with the addition of a goalkeeper.
The Reds have been active already in strengthen areas of the squad, with the likes of Fabinho and Naby Keita already acquired, whilst Nabir Fekir is thought to be joining up with the team in the near future.
One position on the pitch will still remain a concern for Jurgen Klopp, with a new goalkeeper being considered a priority for the locals in the bar, however, reports are suggesting that one man which has been linked with a move is not on the Anfield outfit’s radar.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Southampton’s Alex McCarthy is not an option for the Reds to be chasing at the moment, with their sights set firmly on either Alisson Becker or Jan Oblak of AS Roma and Atletico Madrid respectively.
Liverpool are in need of a new goalkeeper and have been for a while, although there were some believing Loris Kairus had solved the problem before his horror show against Real Madrid.
McCarthy emerged as a possible target following his impressive performances for the Saints towards the backend of the season and has been linked with other Premier League clubs, however, a move to Anfield seems unlikely at this stage.
