Manchester City fans here in the Tavern will be desperate for their side to secure the Premier League title once again next season, but they may need to strengthen over the course of the summer.
Indeed, the Citizens managed to secure the Carabao Cup and the Premier League title in what was a very successful campaign. But, Pep Guardiola is already looking at potential additions, as he’ll want his side to offer more in the Champions League next season. And, it appears as if Manchester City are looking to bring in a midfielder, as according to Sun Sport, the Premier League champions are plotting a move for NK Lokomotiva’s Lovro Majer.
Pep Guardiola is eyeing an £8 million deal to land Lovro Majer this summer, as a potential Yaya Toure replacement.
The 20-year-old has impressed in two seasons of top-flight football in his homeland and he is tipped as the next to move away to Europe’s big leagues.
Although, if City manage to land the wonderkid, Guardiola will weigh up sending him away for first-team football abroad or he will stay to compete for a place as City gear up for their title defence.
Lovro Majer has previously been tipped to follow in the path of Luka Modric, as he has already managed to show glimpses of the Real Madrid midfielder in his performances over in his home country Croatia. And, with Yaya Toure departing this summer, perhaps the youngster will be able to break into the first-team if he joins this summer.
