Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking for the club to strengthen over the summer as they look to build on their impressive campaign.
The Magpies finished in a mid-table spot after an outstanding 2018 and the locals are hoping the club can keep Rafa Benitez at the helm for as long as possible. The manager’s contract is a talking point at the moment, as he wants certain assurances from the board, however, that has not stopped him from working hard to bring in recruits.
Football Ghana are claiming the Toon Army are interested in signing defender Kasim Nuhu from Young Boys and have made progress about bringing him to St. James’ Park. The 22-year-old had an outstanding year in the Swiss division and has attracted plenty of interest from abroad and it is thought a fee of £8million could be enough to sign him.
Agents have reportedly indicated that his camp have opened talks with his current employers about a move away and the Toon Army members in our bar would love to see him arrive, having only signed Martin Dubravka so far this season.
Newcastle will need to add defensive players to their team this summer and Nuhu could be a great addition to the side. The Premier League outfit is thought to appeal to the Ghana international, which could make a deal likely to happen.
The locals in the bar have already seen Martin Dubravka sign on a permanent deal this summer, however, they will want to see Newcastle add a few more signings to give them a chance to remain in the top-flight once again.
