Report: Nuno plotting huge move for World Cup star as he continues Wolves rebuild

Wolverhampton Wanderers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be getting ready for their first season back in the Premier League for six years.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were crowned champions of the Championship, having built an impressive lead at the top and he will be hoping he can take that momentum into the top-flight with them this year.

The former Porto manager will know it will be a tough ask with the players he has got and has already been active in the transfer market, with the additions of Rui Patricio and Raul Jimenez, however, the latest possible target could be the biggest one of all.

According to a report by The Gambling Times, Nuno is considering a move for Stoke City’s Xherdan Shaqiri this summer following the Potters relegation. The Switzerland international is said to be available and would prove to be an excellent signing if he joined them at Molineux.

Landlord’s Verdict

Shaqiri has proven that he can be a quality player during his time at the Bet365 Stadium and his release clause of £12million should not put off Wolves from making an attempt to sign him. His displays have attracted interest from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs, however, the fans in the Tavern would be hoping the guarantee of first-team football can bring him to Molineux.
