West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be excited about the reign Manuel Pellegrini will have with them and will be hoping he can bring big-name stars to the London Stadium.
The Chilean took over on Tuesday from David Moyes and will be looking to take the Hammers to European football, with the addition of playing attractive football, however, he will know he needs to bring new players in to make it happen.
According to the Sun, he could be prepared to turn to one of his trusted bodies in helping with his efforts, by planning to bring Willy Caballero from Chelsea. The pair have worked together at Malaga and Manchester City, when they were crowned Premier League Champions, and would have no issues reuniting once again. Indeed, the report claims Pellegrini fully trusts Caballero and would make him No.1.
It would remain to be seen if Chelsea will let their number two depart Stamford Bridge, especially with speculation surrounding Thibaut Courtois’ future, however, the locals will hope the lure of first-team football could help influence the 36-year-old.
The Hammers are desperate for a new goalkeeper, with Joe Hart heading back to Manchester City after a disappointing loan spell, whilst Adrian appears set to leave the London Stadium outfit as well.
Caballero would be a solid recruitment for the Irons and the punters in the bar will hope he can arrive, as he would definitely help guide them to a place within European football.
