Report: Pochettino means business as Tottenham eye swoop for attacking sensation

Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Tavern are extremely excited about next season, as they believe that their side can challenge for the Premier League title.

Indeed, the Lilywhites looked rather impressive this season as they managed to secure a Champions League place and challenged for the Premier League title during the early stages of the campaign. However, it looks as if Mauricio Pochettino is looking to bolster his squad ahead of next season, as according to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Tottenham are hot on the trail of PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn.

The winger made 36 appearances for PSV Eindhoven this season, scoring eight goals and providing eleven assists as a well-rounded attacker that can pose a real threat in the final third.

However, it looks as if Spurs aren’t the only team interested in securing the 20-year-old’s services, as it’s reported that Liverpool, Arsenal and clubs from France, Germany and Italy are also interested.

Most importantly, it’s understood that PSV would accept a fee between €15 million and €20 million (£13.5 million and £17 million) for the player this summer.

Landlord’s Verdict:

The PSV attacker is a very exciting player that has already shown that he can score goals and provide assists. So, with Spurs eyeing a swoop for the 20-year-old sensation, perhaps the winger will be able to ensure success at Tottenham’s new stadium, with plenty of time for him to progress and improve.

Many of our local residents are delighted with the news as it looks like Mauricio Pochettino means business this summer, with Spurs being linked with the impressive youngster, who has the potential to become a future star.
