Everton fans will be celebrating in the Transfer Tavern after learning the decision that the club have decided to fire Sam Allardyce.
The locals in the bar were unhappy with the way the former West Ham United manager led the team, despite securing their place in next season’s Premier League football, and were pleased that the board finally got rid of him.
They could have another reason to be happy soon as Wayne Rooney could be prepared to stay at the Goodison Park outfit for another season, according to a report in The Sun. The media outlet has stated that his proposed move to DC United could be cancelled as the former England star is prepared to hold talks with his new boss about what future he has in Merseyside.
The Toffees have been heavily linked with Marco Silva over the past couple of days, however, they do not appear that much closer to a deal at the moment.
Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted that the proposed move of their fan favourite could be off and will be waiting to see who comes into the fray at Goodison Park. The 32-year-old is thought to want to remain at his boyhood side and will seek assurances before he decides on his future.
The experience Rooney can offer to some of the younger players would be vital, however, if it were first-team regular football he wanted, he could have to be prepared to make a move away from a club so close to his heart.
