Report reveals Crystal Palace transfer talks in boost for Hodgson and Parish

Crystal Palace fans here in the Tavern are over the moon with their latest bit of business in the transfer window, as they now look to have found themselves the striker they craved.

Indeed, the striking department has been an area full of problems for Roy Hodgson’s side this season, as lone striker Christian Benteke has failed to produce the goalscoring form that previously rewarded him with a move to Liverpool. However, the desperation for a suitable backup striker has now died down, as Crystal Palace believe that they’ve landed their man. As according to reports in the Sun, Crystal Palace are in talks over an £8 million deal for Preston North End striker Jordan Hugill.

After failing to land a countless amount of striker targets already this transfer window, Roy Hodgson will be delighted to have welcomed one of the Championship’s most highly-rated strikers to Selhurst Park. As they hope to come to an agreement with Championship side Preston over securing the services of the 25-year-old, a player that the Lilywhites will have struggled to part ways with. But, it looks as if the player has sorted himself out following his rejected transfer request in the summer, going on to score 10 goals in a rewarding process that’s provided him with the chance of Premier League football.

But, with the deal yet to be completed for the striker, he’ll have to watch from the stands in tonight’s clash with West Ham United as he gets a first taste of his possible new teammates in action. For a side that’s still not safe from potential relegation, securing the services of a striker could just be the turning point in a season that’s not been reliant on the potency of Palace’s attack.

Landlord’s Verdict:

This is a shock signing after the previous players linked with a move to Selhurst Park, although in adding Jordan Hugill they’re getting a player that always gives his all for the team, and sure does know how to find the back of the net. Nevertheless, a sigh of relief can be had for all of the Palace fans, as their hunt for a striker can now be put to bed.
