Ever since Rangers’ reported interest in West Ham United’s youngster Reece Oxford broke, the Gers propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern have been waxing poetic about the notion of seeing him arrive.
The 17-year-old has been touted as a target for Mark Warburton as the Hammers look to help further his development and the Scottish Sun reveal all parties seem to be rather keen on the idea of him spending around 18 months at Ibrox.
However, the report does state that Warburton may be forced to clear out his defensive ranks to make room for his potential arrival in Glasgow, with that area of the squad looking pretty stocked right now. In the form of Rob Kiernan, Philippe Senderos, Clint Hill and Danny Wilson, it’s safe to say the former Brentford chief isn’t short of options there.
With that in mind, our locals want Senderos gone ASAP, having failed to wholly convince during his short stint in Scotland thus far. They feel handing the chance to someone like Oxford, who can better both himself and Rangers, is much more sensible than keeping a hold of the Swiss.
So, Warbs will reportedly have to make room before Tuesday’s deadline if he wishes to bring Oxford in.
