Report: Talented playmaker set to reject Pellegrini’s advances once again

West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be pleased with the work that Manuel Pellegrini has been able to conduct since his arrival last month.

The Chilean was appointed as the new manager of the Hammers and has already signalled his intent to take them into European football by playing attractive football and has been active in the transfer market.

The 64-year-old has already brought in a couple of signings to try and rebuild and strengthen the team he inherited from David Moyes, however, according to reports in Italy, he has failed to convince one player to join his revolution.

Alfredo Pedulla, who is an Italian journalist, has claimed that Bernard has rejected a move to the London Stadium this summer after the Hammers offered him a contract. The Brazilian ace is available on a free transfer as his contract at Shakhtar Donetsk expires, however, it is believed the winger is more interested in a move to the Chinese Super League.

The 25-year-old was originally thought to have snubbed a move to China, when Pellegrini tried to bring him to Hebei China Fortune, however, it looks as though the former Manchester City boss has been rejected once again.

Landlord’s Verdict

The West Ham fans will be devastated that they have not been able to get a player who is widely regarded as one of the best playmakers in the game, as he would have definitely helped to improve the side and would have been an ideal replacement for the injured Manuel Lanzini.

The Hammers in the Tavern will now expect the club to look elsewhere as they will want to continue their efforts to rebuild, although they could go back in for Bernard and see if they can tempt him to change his mind.
