Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted with the news that one of their top prospects is set to stay with the club this summer after doubts were had earlier in the year.
According to a report in the London Evening Standard, Reo Griffiths is believed to remain at White Hart Lane and accept a professional contract from Spurs once he turns 18 later this month. The striker has been concerned about how he would get into the first-team, however, Mauricio Pochettino wants to test him in the Under-23 side before making the leap.
The striker has been hot property for a number of seasons and has excelled once again this year, scoring over 30 times for the Under-18’s which included four goals against arch-rivals Arsenal, leading to a number of the locals in the bar demanding the club to keep him for as long as possible.
Griffiths is certainly a star for the future, having proved he has a know-how of finding the back of the net on a regular basis and the punters in the Tavern will be delighted that he will commit his future to Tottenham.
The Spurs locals will hope he can prove to be consistent when given the chance at the next level and, should he do so, the future for Tottenham could be bright with Griffiths and Harry Kane as their strike options moving forward.
