Report: West Ham confirm departure of senior figure after just one season

West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be expecting a number of changes to be made with the arrival of Manuel Pellegrini and things have already been set in motion.

The Chilean arrived on Tuesday following the departure of David Moyes, and he is expected to be handed a huge transfer kitty in order to bring in a number of players to the club this summer.

However, according to a report by the Training Guru, the 64-year-old has already been making changes to his backroom staff.

Gary Lewin, who was the Head of Medical, has left the club less than a year after joining West Ham from Arsenal along with club doctor Ian Beasley. Goalkeeping coach Chris Woods and Head of Sports Science Nick Davies have also been released as Pellegrini looks to stamp his personal mark on the club.

Landlord’s Verdict

The move by Pellegrini to restructure the club’s backroom staff will show that he is being trusted to bring his favoured personnel to the London Stadium.

The locals will be delighted that he is already making the changes that he believes are necessary for the London Stadium outfit, but they will also be keeping a close eye on his movements in the transfer market to see which positions the club are most eager to strengthen during the summer.
