Report: West Ham make ‘official proposal’ for Real Madrid ace

West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting excited for the first time in a long while about what has been happening with their club this summer.

The Hammers started the transfer season off with the appointment of Manuel Pellegrini and he has duly followed with three signings that will be sure to improve their defensive concerns ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks and Issa Diop have all joined, whilst the former Premier League winner has also looked at bringing in some attacking talent as well, with the likes of Felipe Anderson and Bernard all being rumoured.

However, according to a report by Tuttomercatoweb, Pellegrini could be about to pull off what could be considered a signing of the season. It is being claimed that the Irons have made an official proposal to Real Madrid for Mateo Kovacic.

The Croatia international is thought to be unhappy with his playing opportunities at Los Blancos and the Hammers will be hoping that they can bring a man of the 24-year-old’s ability to the London Stadium next season.

Landlord’s Verdict

The possibility of Kovacic joining West Ham would have sent the locals into a mass frenzy. The residents would never have expected to have been linked with a player of his quality and will be hopeful that they can convince him to join him.

Many will be concerned that that could be too difficult of a task though, as he is already at one of the greatest clubs and it will have to be seen whether he would be willing to join a club that entertained relegation from the Premier League last season.
