Our Burnley fans here in the Transfer Tavern are feeling relatively relieved with Michael Keane’s recent comments to The Lancashire Telegraph, but our resident Leicester punters are also feeling positive.
That’s because, when asked about a potential move to Leicester, the defender said that he is happy where he is at the moment but has been flattered by the Foxes interest.
The defender has been in fine form for the Clarets this season with Sean Dyche’s men looking good to stay up at the moment.
Indeed, Keane’s form was rewarded earlier this campaign with an England call-up and those kinds of performances have led him to be linked with the Foxes by The Sun for a move in this window.
“It’s nice to see. It wouldn’t happen if you weren’t playing well.
“But I don’t let it affect me at all, it doesn’t affect me going into matchday or going into training every day. I just get on with my football.
“I’m really happy here at Burnley, but it is flattering to see.”
These words have certainly caught our landlord’s attention, too, and this is how he sees it. He reckons that Keane will stay until the end of the season, at least, but after that he may move on with him obviously having the talent to play for a, with all due respect to the Clarets, bigger club.
