Liverpool fans drooping around the Transfer Tavern have burst into life with excitement, after they read reports that stated Jurgen Klopp's first signing at Anfield will be unveiled on Monday.

The Daily Star states that Marko Grujic has been granted a work permit to complete a £5.1m from Red Star Belgrade to the Premier League.

19-year-old Grujic has been heavily chased by Liverpool in recent weeks and will fly into Merseyside this weekend to undergo a medical. He will become Klopp's first signing at Anfield but will stay at Belgrade on-loan for the rest of the season.

Last week, Red Star confirmed that three offers have been made for Grujic in a statement that read:

“In the last 10 days we have received three formal offers for the transfer of our player Marko Grujic: from Anderlecht €2m (£1.47m), Stuttgart €5m (£3.7m), and from Liverpool received an offer worth €7m (£5.1m) and 10 per cent of the next transfer."

“All in Red Star sincerely want Marko Grujic to stay for the next 10 years, but the financial situation of our club dictates the adoption of a different decision. The board considered the offer and unanimously accepted the offer of the English giants."

“Liverpool will pay the money immediately, and the player will stay in Red Star until 01/07/2016. We wanted to respect the desire of the player’s father Marko Grujic remain until next summer at our club and we agreed to pay Liverpool €1m (£750,000) for the loan of six months.”

Liverpool punters in the bar are excited to see Grujic's talent and will be keeping close tabs on the youngster for the remainder of the season, whilst hoping in can help them in a European campaign next year.
