Reports – Wenger set to land second deal of the summer, but there’s a clause involved

The Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are still waxing lyrical about the prospect of the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Alexandre Lacazette walking out the tunnel at The Emirates next season, however, amidst that talk a couple have spotted some promising reports coming out of Russia.

According to reports from Russian publication Football Magazine, the Gunners are set to seal the deal to sign CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin.

The versatile 21-year-old will make the move to The Emirates for a fee of around £10m, however, the deal includes a loan-back clause which will see him stay with CSKA for at least another season as the club look to track his development and bring him in when ready.

The landlord here at the Tavern has suggested that, whilst it could be an exciting signing for the future, after an awful season last term fans in north London want to see top players arriving this summer, not in over a year’s time.

Still, there is plenty of time for the Gunners to get their buisness done, and speculation that they are already closing in on a signing certainly bodes well for the season ahead.

What do you think Arsenal fans? Is this a good investment or would you rather see the top players arriving at The Emirates now rather than later? Let us know in the comments below…
